About Us
fit2cook food education was set up by Min Raisman in 2005 after a successful
career as an award winning producer on BBC Radio 4’s Food Programme:
"I wanted to do something to address the problem of children
losing touch with where their food comes from and I wanted to stimulate an
interest in cooking real food, so I set up fit2cook."
fit2cook has a strong track record in developing innovative and successful food
education projects for a diverse range of clients. We started working with just half a dozen schools and now work with over 200 schools in the south. Many of the schools have seen the benefits of a food education project across the whole school community.
"The fit2cook sessions have had a massive impact on our children, on their
attitudes to eating, on their attitudes to nutrition and on their general
attitude to food altogether. Healthy eating, a win win situation."
Parent governor, All Saints C of E Primary School, Winchester.
As a company we feel very strongly about supporting local farmers and food
producers so in 2008 fit2cook set up The Create and Cook competition - a hugely successful
cookery competition for teenagers who are challenged to create menus using local
food ingredients.
We work closely with local food groups and companies and are constantly
developing new ways to engage young people with real food.
